Momofuku Seiōbo – Pyrmont

Its great when you go to expecting a place to be good and you go away from it with your expectations exceeded!  I went to Momofuku for lunch where the menu is a 8 course degustation (on the day there was actually 10) for $110.  The food was all superb with heaps of variety between the dishes that all seemed to complement each other in progression.

I was lucky and got a seat at the bar that looks into the kitchen there is an area with traditional tables but I think these are the best seats in the house as you can see the chefs at work watching all the food come together.  Another thing I liked about the place was the laid back atmosphere not exactly what you would expect from a 3 hatted restaurant.

At the end of the meal I was given a small packet of kimchi to take home which was nice. I really enjoyed my lunch an Momofuku and want to come back and give dinner a try.

I normally would not pick a vegetarian dish off a menu so when this dish came out I was not expecting anything much sure it looked great but some cauliflower and egg how good could it be? Well it was great , the cauliflower had so much flavor  so did the sauce. The egg was had a lovely texture to it somewhere between hard and soft

I love that you get a packet of kimchee to take away. It’s like an adult party bag! And so envious you got to have a Momofuku canele! I love those babies!
