Ippudo – Sydney

Im a big fan of Ramen and Ippudo is right up on my list of favorite places to get it in Sydney. At $16 its certainly not the cheapest in town but considering it is in the Westfeilds food court where a sandwich can cost $14 I don’t think the $16 for a Ramen in a sit down table service place expensive. One thing I like about Ipudo is the ” Kae-dama”  so you can another serve of noodles for $2 great for when your really hungry.

Karaka Men $17 – original Tonkotsu broth with special spicy miso & ground pork. This ramen looks much hotter than it really is, I would call it medium.

Momofuku Seiōbo – Pyrmont

Its great when you go to expecting a place to be good and you go away from it with your expectations exceeded!  I went to Momofuku for lunch where the menu is a 8 course degustation (on the day there was actually 10) for $110.  The food was all superb with heaps of variety between the dishes that all seemed to complement each other in progression.

I was lucky and got a seat at the bar that looks into the kitchen there is an area with traditional tables but I think these are the best seats in the house as you can see the chefs at work watching all the food come together.  Another thing I liked about the place was the laid back atmosphere not exactly what you would expect from a 3 hatted restaurant.

At the end of the meal I was given a small packet of kimchi to take home which was nice. I really enjoyed my lunch an Momofuku and want to come back and give dinner a try.

Egg with Cauliflower & Mushroom – My fav dish of them all. I normally would not pick a vegetarian dish off a menu so when this dish came out I was not expecting anything much sure it looked great but some cauliflower and egg how good could it be? Well it was great , the cauliflower had so much flavor  so did the sauce. The egg was had a lovely texture to it somewhere between hard and soft

Mr Wong – CBD

Just a quick post from a recent lunch at Mr Wong. I have tried to eat  here a few times before but there was always too long of a wait so this was my first time trying it out.  All in all I really enjoyed my meal here and will certainly come back another time.
